Jack Wilson is a Savannah, Ga. native who has had a lifelong dream of painting, but only started living his dream later in life.

His self-taught impressionist and abstract paintings capture the coastal landscape and culture of the Low Country. Jack’s unique color blending ranges from bold hues, to pastel washes.

Much of his inspiration comes from his marsh view home and while out on his boat enjoying Georgia’s barrier islands. Many of his paintings use the Impasto technique which is a thickly painted texture. He will often incorporate different mediums into the painting, and is always experimenting with different substrates. Painting with a pallet knife is one of his favorite techniques.

Jack annually exhibits at the Isle of Hope Art and Music Festival, and the Photopoint Gallery’s Holiday Artist Collective in Richmond Hill. He is a member of the Arts on the Coast and is currently participating in their Annual Exhibit (View the Show Online). His paintings can be seen at the offices of Merrill Lynch on Skidaway Island, and in his home Gallery at South Harbor, Savannah, Ga.
